A Night at Nightmare Chambers

I must love you guys, because I can’t believe I just did this for you. I walked through a haunted house not once, but twice and I did it with the incredible Darkshi Creations for a photo shoot. I’ve never been to a haunted house before, and there was no way I was going to […]

I went to New York!

People that know me will tell you I’m soft spoken, southern, kind to a fault, and so nice I practically make your teeth hurt. People do not call me brave, and they’re right. I am super shy and battle anxiety so I tend to like familiar surroundings. Still, you can’t be a geeky blogger for […]

10 Vi Cosplays

”It’s a shame. I’ve got two fists, but you’ve only got one face.” -Vi I love League of Legends and their arsenal of cool characters to cosplay. Thinking about trying on someone from the game? Try Vi! First up is Bec’s Cosplay Wonderland. The edited photo is just beautiful but the highly detailed costume is […]

I went to NYCC!

New York Comic Con! My first ever! Here’s what I did, what I saw, and where I went. I could write ten articles about this event! Guys, I was so nervous. Traveling alone, I went to arguably the largest comic con, in a city I do not know. Know what? It was amazing! Look at […]

12 Katniss Everdeen Cosplays

Katniss Everdeen from the Hunger Games trilogy has become a beacon of hope, symbol for the rebellion, and with her wardrobe, a highly prized cosplay option. Her gowns and battle costumes are equally saught after so I try my best to give you a little of everything. Ready to be impressed? I love this lineup […]

Where to eat at NYCC

Hello, my name is Gillian and I am a walking tummy. I’ve been on a healthy diet for six years thanks to a wonky heart but when I travel I give myself a “free pass.” Eat ALL the things! Visiting New York for my first NYCC had me so excited, but I learned a hard […]

  • I think part of my weakness for 1940s hair is how *neat and pretty* it is at the same time as it's *securely stowed.* Pin these styles well enough (and maybe even pomade them a little, I don't know), and you don't have to be terrified of wind. You can go on about your business without forever worrying about your hair. And that's. ~relieved sigh~ That's worth somethin'.

  • I hate victory rolls, beehives, and a lot of pin-up hair styles for this day and age, but some of these are JUST low-key enough to be used on occasion

  • If you don't have bobby pins, try it with two hair ties. Start by pulling the back half of your hair into a high ponytail using one tie. Then, pull the rest of your hair into a larger ponytail around the first. This will give you the height and pop you are looking for!
